I have been Licensed Massage Practitioner since 1997. I graduated from a Five Element Acupuncture School in the spring of 2011. I am looking forward to incorporating Five Element philosophies into my practice by providing acupuncture in the near future.
I was raised in northern California and graduated from HumboldtStateUniversity with a degree in comparative religions and philosophy while becoming a Humboldt State Hall of Fame runner. As a former National Park Service Ranger involved in fire and emergency medical/rescue, I learned injury triage. I have been a Certified USA Triathlon Level II Coach with success training beginning athletes to Olympic hopefuls. In the past 35 years, I've participated, both as a student or instructor, in modern dance, aerobic dance, yoga, martial arts, summer & winter biathlons, duathlons, and triathlons.
Today I teach and demonstrate to my patients the importance of properly executed movement for everyday life, athletic enjoyment, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. I also enjoy fly fishing, theater arts, calligraphy, and teas from around the world.
“Wendy’s knowledge of the intricacies of the body proved to be instrumental in guiding me toward a greater understanding and implementation of a program of effective Body Balancing stretches and soft tissue release techniques. This program strongly complimented the mechanical adjustments of bike fitting. With Wendy’s enthusiastic assistance fitting our clients, we successfully documented strong percentage gains in kilojoules and wattage often with decreases in heart rate. For a competitive cyclist or triathlete, this is the highest level of performance enhancement obtainable.”
